PCAC members offer ideas, insights and views on key areas of politics, society and world events that are of direct interest to our network of more than 600 Investment Advisors, portfolio managers, family offices and other capital markets professionals in Canada and Europe.

Having obtained a Master's of Science and Doctorate (PhD) degree in biomedical sciences, he has developed an expertise in drug safety and regulatory affairs while working in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
CEO of CubicFarm Systems (CUB-V), a Langley, BC, ag-tech company that is quickly becoming a global leader in the controlled-environment-agricultural vertical farming space with its patented technology for growing leafy greens and other crops indoors as well as a second technology for growing nutritious livestock feed. These proprietary technologies allow growers around the world to produce high quality, predictable crop yields. Dave has a strong private equity background, having founded a background screening start-up in 1997 that was ultimately sold to Goldman Sachs in 2015. He joined CubicFarms later that year and led the company in its go-public transaction in early 2019.
President & CEO of H2O Innovation Inc. (HEO-V), a Quebec City-based water and waste water plant designer and operator with operations in Canada, the US, Europe and the Middle East. Frédéric founded H2O in 2000 shortly after graduating from Laval University with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering. In October of 2020 H2O was named Water Company of the Year at the 2020 Global Water Awards by the industry leading Global Water Intelligence newsletter. He has served as board member of the Canadian Sciences & Technologies Museum in Ottawa and is currently supporting entrepreneurship and innovation as a provincial board member of the La Ruche Québec crowd-funding platform.
President & CEO of Pine Cliff Energy Ltd. (PNE-T), a Calgary-based oil and gas company with a strong portfolio of high quality, low-decline natural gas assets in central and southern Alberta that he helped found in 2012 and has since grown from 100 boe/d to approximately 19,000 boe/d through multiple acquisitions and organic growth. He was previously a Managing Director at J.F Mackie Corporation, a Calgary based investment bank, where he was the lead advisor on China Investment Corporation's $1.2 billion investment in Penn West Energy Trust. Prior to that, Phil was an officer and director of Westport Innovations Inc., a NASDAQ listed energy technology company and a Partner at Bennett Jones LLP.
Dr. Daniel J. Lindsay is a Winnipeg-based medical specialist with over 30 years of medical and business experience. He is a successful entrepreneur and has practical expertise in the realm of Applied Artificial Intelligence. He has extensive regulatory and governance experience, serving and having served on multiple national, university and provincial boards. He has a wealth of experience including being the president of The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba, five tours of duty as a medical specialist with the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan and as the director and owner of multiple medical enterprises.

Peter has a distinguished career as a parliamentarian, serving as a Member of Parliament from Nova Scotia for 19 years between 1997 and 2015 as regional minister in Atlantic Canada holding four key portfolios as Minister of Justice and Attorney General (2013-2015), Minister of National Defence (2007-2013) and Minister of Foreign Affairs (2006-2007) and Minister for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA). He chaired the National security Committee of cabinet for 10 years and is founder of the highly acclaimed Halifax International Security Forum, He is currently the co-chair of Boost-Child Youth Advocacy Centre and serves on the National board of Special Olympics Canada and Wounded Warriors Canada.
Managing Director, Investment Banking, Canaccord Genuity (CF-T) Dan leads Canaccord Genuity’s Canadian real estate investment banking group, with a practice focused primarily on raising equity and debt capital for public and private real estate companies, as well as real estate M&A advisory. During his career, Dan has been involved in over 100 corporate finance transactions on a lead-managed basis, raising aggregate gross proceeds of over C$5 billion for REITs and REOCs spanning all asset classes and stages of development, as well as a number of real estate M&A transactions representing aggregate enterprise value of approximately C$8 billion.
Carl Smith is the Chief Financial Officer at Converge Technology Solutions (TSXV:CTS), a national platform of regionally focused Hybrid IT solution providers in the U.S. and Canada, and has more than 20 years of experience in finance and executive leadership positions in public and private technology companies. Prior to Converge, he held the position of CFO at Espial Group, a publicly traded company on the TSX that was acquired by a leading Canadian-based software company.
President & CEO of Integra Resources (ITR-V), a Vancouver based development-stage mining company focused on the exploration and de-risking of the past producing DeLamar Gold-Silver Project in Idaho, USA. The Company has demonstrated significant resource growth and conversion while providing a robust economic study in its maiden Preliminary Economic Assessment. They are currently focused on resource growth through brownfield and greenfield exploration and the start of advanced studies designed to de-risk the DeLamar Project and move it towards a potential development decision. George has over 30 years of experience in the mining and resource exploration industry and has been involved in over $2 billion of M&A transactions, either through assets sales or his involvement with junior mining companies.
